Training

If you are an individual looking for training
We often receive training enquiries from individuals who are looking to become an appropriate adult. If you are joining an organisation or local AA scheme, you should expect to be trained by them. There is no requirement to be trained in advance. NAAN does not train individuals who are acting outside of a scheme, organisation or other professional framework. NAAN provides a range of training for organisations. We'll listen to your needs and draw on our resources and experience to develop bespoke training that makes your scheme more effective and sustainable.

Examples include:

  • Appropriate adult scheme co-ordinator training;
  • Appropriate adult training for volunteers;
  • Appropriate adult training for employees;
  • Awareness training for police custody officers, health and social care staff.

We are also currently supporting the development of a nationally accredited appropriate adult qualification.
